Dr. Peng Guo is Director of the Nikon Imaging Center at UC San Diego. Dr. Guo received his B.S. in Physics from University of Science and Technology of China and his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Emory University in Atlanta with Professor Keith Berland. Dr. Guo worked as postdoctoral fellow and imaging core facility manager under the mentorship of Dr. Gary Bassell in Center for Neurodegenerative Disease at Emory University. Dr. Guo was Co-director of Light microscopy and Image analysis at the Analytical Imaging Facility at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York from 2011 to 2020 under the mentorship of Dr. John Condeelis and Dr. Robert Singer. He was Director of Cellular Imaging Shared Resources at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle following that. He was a faculty member in the department of Anatomy and Structural Biology and Gruss Lipper Biophotonics Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and co-investigator on several R01s. Dr. Guo is committed to advancing science through microscopy and continuing to build a microscopy facility that supports biomedical research at the cutting edge.
Professor Samara Reck-Peterson is the faculty director of the Nikon imaging center, and the oversight committee includes Professors Jin Zhang, Cornelis Murre, Arshad Desai, and Don Cleveland.
